The Spirit Of The Hebrides

The Spirit of The Hebrides has been in print for 6 years now. It was my first book, albeit a collaborative effort, and so it remains close to my heart. It was longlisted for the Highland Book Prize in 2019. I gave talks and presentations on it at various camera clubs and book festivals. It has sold strongly - albeit in the specialised field of poetry - and small numbers are still being sold today in 2025. It's not without its faults admittedly. I once made up a list of 10 things I would change about it, and I still maintain the publisher traded the image quality for price (better quality print paper should have been used). The cover looks great though. It's still available to buy. After all this time, I still don't like the title. It makes it sound like a whisky, and ironically prints are exhibited in the Raasay Distillery
